Why Should We Learn Tango?

Tango is soooo sexy.  It’s intimacy, sensuality, and passion personified. Everyone should dance at least one tango in their life.

Gentlemen can score big.  By taking tango lessons with your partner you will score an unbelievable amount of points.  It will be HUGE.

This will upgrade your slow dance moves. When the music slows down, you will no longer be limited to that prom dance thing you do. You will develop the skills to make dancing to romantic music much more interesting and sexy. Did I mention tango is soooo sexy?

The Snob Factor

When people ask you how you are going to spend your fall and winter months, you can respond, “Well, actually, I’m going to be taking lessons in Argentine tango.”

Exotic appeal. Where else can a woman wear fishnet stockings and a skirt with a slit up the side and not be labeled a slut.

It will increase your cosmopolitan quotient. You will be exposed to a foreign culture and a whole new genre of music. Also, if at some point in your life, you find yourself in Argentina, you can dance with the natives.

You will be able to participate in flash mob tangos (which is perhaps one of the coolest things any living human being can do).

You will learn to dance expressively.  By learning to leave the beat (yes, leave the beat), you can impart a deeper sensitivity in the connection between you and your partner. The motion will be more in tune with the music’s phrasing.   

You can embarrass your kids.  As if seeing their parents dancing isn’t painful enough, start tangoing, and while the two of you are entwined in a close embrace, perform a leg wrap.  They will be mortified – or they might actually think it’s really cool.

You Can Become A 1 Per-center

If you’ve always wanted to be a 1 per-center, and unique is what you seek, this is it.  There’s probably a very high percentage of people who couldn’t adequately describe what an Argentine tango is. And fewer still who can dance a tango.

And the social aspect. You will be dancing among and with some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
