Fishing And Me – A Failed Relationship

Fishing relationship

Fishing and I were in a relationship that just never worked out. It wasn’t a good match, and like most of us do at the end of a failed relationship, we say, “It’s not you; it’s me.”

That’s how I felt about fishing. It wasn’t fishing’s fault; it was mine. Most people love it. They will travel great distances and spend large amounts of money on lodging, boats, and gear. They end up having a great time, and they come home with wonderful stories to tell. This never happened in my case, and I’m blaming myself.

It was just getting too complicated, so fishing and I have gone our separate ways. I doubt very much fishing misses me; however, once in a while I get the urge to perhaps try it again. In other words, I may not be over fishing after all. I’m evidently still vulnerable, so I guess it will be back to therapy for yours truly. If you’re interested in the details of how this recreational entanglement went so wrong, click on Putting Food On The Table – Fishing.
